FAQ: creatives and testing
Sizes, brand assets, prices on images, seasons, languages, and how to test creatives against each other.
Can I use my own brand assets?
Yes. Your Brand DNA holds your colours, fonts, logo, ad language, tone and a description of your ideal customer, and every new creative uses it. Your logo is applied to the creatives automatically, based on your Brand DNA.
What if the price or discount on a creative changes?
A price or discount written on an image does not update by itself; for a new price, generate a new image. Keep prices in your product feed instead: Meta takes the regular and sale price from there on every refresh.
Can I make seasonal campaigns, for Black Friday or Christmas?
Yes. Choose Seasonal catalog ad when you start a task and pick a season, or type your own. The Inspiration library also has seasonal styles. The season shapes the look of the creatives; when the ads run is set with the start and end date when you activate the campaign.
Can I advertise in several languages or markets?
Creatives are made in the ad language set in your Brand DNA. For another language, change the language there and generate new creatives. You choose the countries for each campaign when you activate it.
Does a new image replace the image of a running ad automatically?
No, only after you approve it. In catalog ads, a newly approved image replaces the old one on Meta's next feed refresh; until then the previously approved image keeps running.
How many creatives should I test at once?
Start with 2 to 4 clearly different creatives, for example a lifestyle, a benefit-badge and a call-out version. The test stays easy to read, and your budget is not spread over too many versions.
How long before I can judge the results?
Plan for 7 to 14 days as a starting point. It depends on your budget and how many purchases come in; with little data it can take longer. Avoid frequent changes, and do not decide on a single day's results.
How do I test creatives against each other?
- Each style runs as its own ad, so you can compare them.
- Add a control ad when you activate: one more ad per ad set with your own product photos, untouched. It costs no credits (it spends Meta budget like any ad) and is the baseline for the AI creatives.
- For a guaranteed budget per creative, put the creatives in separate ad sets and choose Ad set budget. Within one ad set, Meta decides and usually concentrates on one or two creatives.
